Mayor Presents Solar Technologies with Green Business Award

On Tuesday, April 14, the mayor of Santa Cruz presented the Green Business Award to Solar Technologies.

The city mayor, Cynthia Mathews, personally handed certificates to representatives of six outstanding local businesses who completed the Green Business program.  Solar Technologies is the first solar company to be certified in the program for Santa Cruz County.  The presentation at City Hall was aired on channel 25 local community television.

“We are honored that we were selected for participation in this event.  We want to do our part to support the community and the environment in any way we can and promote environmental impact awareness, increase our use of recyclables and reduce our use of non-renewable materials,” said Roger DeNault, president of Solar Technologies.

For decades Roger has made it his mission to get the word out about renewable energy and help educate the community. His current message includes new ways to take advantage of the opportunities available with the Obama Stimulus Package. He has been giving a series of seminars on the subject at various venues including the local Solar Technologies Showroom. He will be speaking at the San Benito County Eco-nomics Expo and Job Fair on May 14, in Hollister.
