Solar Case Study: San Martin, CA

Nestled in the eastern foothills between San Martin and Gilroy is an area of small farms and horse properties. 

Many families in this area use a lot of energy for agricultural and domestic water pumping.  The Henley, Flaherty, Brennemans have acreage there with horses and other animals and needed a larger, ground mounted solar system to provide their energy needs. 

• The system uses 72 Mitsubishi 165 watt solar panels with 2 Fronius 5100 watt inverters.
• The array offsets 915,000 lbs of carbon dioxide over the warranted life time of the panels,
  and 297 lbs of nitrous oxide.
• The internal rate of return of the owner's investment was 17%.

The system is ground mounted in a pasture.  Uneven ground made the installation of this system somewhat challenging.
